Aspens were saved white with blue masking tape while the washes of lamp black, ultramarine blue, raw sienna, and reds of alizerin, carmine, and Grumbacher red were added with the help of a bottle of sprayed water. I use long thin riggers brushes and a sharp pallet knife for branches. All the background and blue shadows have to be done before the tape is removed. The trees are done one at a time starting in the distance and ending with the closest tree last. ~ robert
