quiet among the pinions

 There is a unique feeling when one walks across the desert landscape and is surrounded by pinions and the quiet.  Even the muffled sound of a distant jet overhead seems intrusive.  These are moments which Westerner’s cherish because we have learned that large open spaces are not going to last forever. ~ janice
