farm homes below soldier hollow by marilynn z. nielson, 11 x 14 Oil, framed $550, unframed $425
When we awoke and looked out our window on this winter morning, we couldn’t even stop to eat breakfast. We grabbed the camera and got numerous winter pictures throughout the valley. This was one of my favorites. The fog from Deer Creek Reservoir was just lifting and the view of these tranquil little buildings below this mountain was a painting just waiting for my brush. I was right because it came together very quickly with little correction. Just to the right, on the side of this mountain is Soldier Hollow, the site of the 2002 Winter Olympics. One would never guess that so much activity is taking place just a short distance from this quiet, lovely spot. I admire the local farmers here, who continue their way of life oblivious to the newcomers and the hustle and bustle of tourists and developers. ~ marilynn
