I’ve always been fascinated by the color red and how beautifully it photographs in black and white. This red rose was photographed in St. George in early March. It was one of the earliest roses in bloom this year. This etching was printed in black ink to emphasize the delicateness of the flower. For me, the rose which appears often in my work is a symbol of my mother, who recently passed away. ~ brent
